The report shows that the Gaziantep-based operation of 6 May 2025, which resulted in 272 detentions across 47 provinces and 77 arrests, was carried out not so much as a concrete criminal investigation, but rather with the aim of “shaping public perception.” It demonstrates that this led to systematic violations of fundamental rights, including the presumption of innocence, the principle of legality, the right to a fair trial, the right to private life, and freedoms of expression and association.
