Violations of Property Rights Against Individuals – 2
The report shows that, in Türkiye, the post-2016 decree-law regime has institutionally violated individuals’ property and economic rights by criminalising lawful activities under the pretext of “terrorism,” leading to arrests, confiscation of assets, indefinite professional bans, and the effective denial of access to education and the right to stand for election. It argues that this practice has been transformed into a mechanism of “civil death” and is in clear conflict with universal legal standards.
